PRODUCT / 009 / TRIBOLOGY DRAWING № DWF-DS-009 / REV. A / 2026-03 MATERIAL PTFE · GRAPHITE

Dimpled Sheet.

A low-friction sliding sheet whose face is machined with a recessed dimple pattern to cut friction and vibration. Each dimple acts as a reservoir for grease or oil, feeding lubricant while the part slides, and only the flat land between dimples touches, which sharply reduces real contact area. The material is a low-friction PTFE or PTFE-with-graphite grade.

Grades

/ 01 Support / 02 Bond / 03 PTFE ↓ LOAD → SLIDE
/ 01

Virgin PTFE— low friction · light load

μ 0.04PTFE · VIRGIN

Dimples machined into unfilled PTFE sheet. Lowest friction (μ 0.04), for precise, lightly loaded sliding parts. Chemical and medical grades available.

/ 02

PTFE + Graphite— standard · medium load

μ 0.05PTFE + Gr

Graphite improves wear resistance and heat transfer. The standard grade for industrial sliding bearings and structure transport liners.

/ 03

Filled PTFE— heavy load · high speed

μ 0.06PTFE + BRONZE/GLASS
A reinforced grade for heavy load and fast sliding, filled with bronze or glass fibre.
  • Bronze filledFor medium-load industrial slides. Better heat transfer.
  • Glass filledWear and creep resistance under high compression.
  • Carbon filledWhere temperature, speed and low wear all matter.
— Applications

Applications

/ SLIDING · BEARING

Sliding Bearing Liner

Used as a liner in medium-load sliding bearings and structure transport. Grease held in the dimples keeps feeding, cutting friction and wear sharply.

/ VIBRATION

Vibration Damping

Eases stick-slip at sliding contacts on machinery. Less contact area, plus the cushioning of grease in the dimples, brings down vibration and noise.

/ HIGH-LOAD SLIDING

Heavy Sliding Contact

Heavily loaded moving parts on plant, presses and machining lines. Contact damage is held down and regreasing intervals stretch, so maintenance eases.
